Education
Three-year bachelor's degrees and one-year master's, so the total cost of a qualification is lower than the annual fee suggests. Business, law, the creative arts and medicine are the traditional strengths. Every institution that sponsors a student visa is licensed by UKVI and regulated by the Office for Students, and the Graduate Route allows two years of work after graduation with no job offer needed.
Living there
Familiar in language and institutions, and the largest Indian student community of any destination here. Teaching is independent: few contact hours, and reading and coursework done on your own. Costs vary enormously between London and the rest of the country — the same degree can cost a third less in the north.

How the fees and visa funds work
A UK university is usually paid in two parts — something upfront, and the rest later. Whatever is still unpaid when your CAS is issued gets added to the money you must show the visa office you have. Here's how the two add up, using an example first-year fee of £15,000 — the real split comes from the university, not from this page.

Have an approved student loan instead? None of the bank-balance amount above needs to be shown — an approved, unconditional loan letter from a regulated lender, dated within 6 months and stating the exact amount, replaces it entirely. Personal and property loans don't qualify.
This is a worked example, not a quote. How much a university asks for before issuing a CAS is that university's own decision and varies from one to the next — confirm the real payment schedule with the university before relying on it.

Eligible: Indian citizen. Bachelors at UK 2:1 equivalent. Minimum 2 years (2,800 hours) paid work experience after your bachelors. Apply to 3 eligible UK masters courses and hold 1 unconditional offer. Commit to returning to India for 2 years.

Eligible: Indian citizen. Upper second-class (2:1) degree by September of your intake year — lower second-class works only alongside a relevant postgraduate qualification. Must be unable to afford UK study without it.
JN Tata Endowment
Masters, PhD, Postdoctoral · Up to INR 20 lakh loan at 2% simple interest, repaid in 5 instalments between years 3 and 7, plus partial travel assistance
